By The Beatles. By John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Arranged by Charlie Whelan. 20th Century,Contemporary,Latin,Pop. Brass Band. 31 pages. Charlie Whelan #887891. Published by Charlie Whelan (A0.1297986).
The iconic Beatles tune "A Day In The Life" arranged for brass band.
This arrangement is more closely based on the Jeff Beck cover of the song and starts with an Eb bass solo. The middle section of the song have been spiced up, leaning more towards a fun southern American feel than classic Beatles. The chaotic orchestral glissandi remain true to the original featuring improv from section principals.
The cornet solo is tough but, overall, this arrangement is suitable for bands of all abilities.
Arranged for 3 percussionists but still works well with just one if needed.
Hope you enjoy,
Charlie.
