Allen, was given the tune name MAITLAND and often paired with the text, "Must Jesus Bear the Cross Alone" in hymnals. In 1932, Tomas A. Dorsey paired the tune with his own text, "Precious Lord, Take My Hand." He had to make a few melodic adjustments to the tune to make it fit his text, so that particular version of the tune is still under copyright.
