By Kellie Pickler. By Joan Javits, Phil Springer, and Tony Springer. Arranged by Michael Pilley. Christmas. Score and parts. 30 pages. Michael Pilley Music #4852307. Published by Michael Pilley Music (A0.746226).
This tune made famous by Eartha Kitt has been sung by many vocalists since its first recording in 1953, and continues to be a smash hit for whoever releases it. This arrangement is based on the Glee Cast recording and is set for a small jazz ensemble consisting of Trumpet, Alto Sax, Tenor Sax, Trombone, Piano, Guitar, Bass and Drums with a Vocal Soloist.
A straight forward arrangement in a swing style, with moments of even 8th lines and classic swing rhythms, this chart will be perfect in any Christmas set. A delicate touch is required to back the vocalist, who traditionally would sing this with a sultry tone.
Beautifully laid out in A4 size, the score and parts are easy to read and available NOW for digital download. We suggest you print on 80gsm paper, to ensure that the copies last longer in your bands library. If you're printing on letter size paper, please fit to page when sending to the printer.
