The Sonatina for clarinet and piano has been composed for didactic purposes, at a clarinet teacher’s request. It is a didactic work as it implies both the clarinetist and the pianist to be sufficiently familiar to tonal harmony. The piece is composed in a free style, four movements linked to one another so that it can be intended as an open form. It does not demand any particular technical skill, but a good training in chamber music.
La Sonatine pour clarinette et piano a été composée sur le désir d’un professeur de clarinette. En tant qu’œuvre didactique, elle exige du clarinettiste et du pianiste des connaissances de la tonalité libre. Elle est composée dans un style libre, les quatre mouvements sont reliés par leurs motifs les uns aux autres. Pas trop difficile techniquement, elle exige cependant des musiciens un certain entraînement du jeu d’ensemble.
